Overdose Prevention Program
Turning Awareness into Action
The Overdose Prevention Project, created by SixSpeed, began as a bold act of compassion — a creative call to confront the overdose crisis with honesty, humanity, and hope. A movement to save lives and change the way our communities talk about substance use.
Fentanyl Free Communities Foundation is honored to partner with SixSpeed. Through this collaboration, we’ve expanded the Overdose Prevention Project into real-world impact by installing harm reduction stations across the community — providing free Narcan and fentanyl test strips.
The CDC reported a 27% decrease in overdose deaths in 2024. That is 77 lives saved per day, nationwide. Still, not enough, with 87,000 overdose deaths predicted in 2025, there is room for improvement. We at Fentanyl Free Communities Foundation are committed to this fight by providing life saving resources to communities throughout Minnesota.
One-third of U.S. adults know someone who has died from a drug overdose. This crisis lives in your community, with your friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family. In over 40% of opioid overdose deaths, a potential bystander is nearby who could intervene. Be that bystander, carry Narcan.
With the ongoing opioid crisis, carrying Narcan is essential. Overdoses happen unexpectedly, and having Narcan on hand can save a life - whether it is a friend, family member, or stranger. Narcan is a first aid tool and, just like CPR or an EpiPen, it should be part of every first aid kit at home, at work, and in public spaces.
Aside from saving lives, this project is about getting the word out there. We want Narcan to become a household name so people understand the risks. Access to Narcan has been shown to reduce drug use, as people become more aware of the risks associated with drug use.
Widespread distribution of free Narcan & Fentanyl Test Strips has led to greater awareness within communities about fentanyl contamination.
It's about meeting people where they are, without judgment, and equipping them with tools that can make the difference between life and loss.
This project is direct donation based. We are servicing areas from Minneapolis - St. Cloud, with many more to be installed with your help. Save a life and donate today!
